Barolo red Wine is often called the “king of wines, the wine of kings” due to its proximity to the Savoy court (Prime Minister Camillo Benso Conti di Cavour personally promoted the production of this great Piedmontese red wine), Barolo has unparalleled characteristics.
With an intense garnet color, the aromas of Barolo are reminiscent of red fruits, black cherries, dried roses, and spices, while in the mouth it is warm, enveloping and soft with darting tannins.
It is difficult to say which is the maximum aging of a Barolo, but it is certain that after 5-6 years from when it is put on the market it can already be charming, to reach its peak between 10 years and 20 years.
In reality, there are Barolos that far exceed this period of time, which have proved to be exceptional and of great verve. Among the great producers of Barolo, we have selected for you Clerico, Gaja, Oddero, Voerzio, Giacosa and many others, excellent names in enology that have made the history of the territory.
